The advancement in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) as well as other Digital Transformation Initiatives has prompted the Healthcare Industry to focus more how IT-enabled services can lead to better care, as the industry moves toward the "patient-centric healthcare".
Advanced World Solutions, Inc. was part of the 12-company Philippine Delegation led by the Department of Trade and Industry/Board of Investments (Philippines) as an exhibitor in the 5-day conference (3/5 - 3/9). AI, Analytics/Machine Learning and Automation (RPA) dominated the exhibit floors, and Advanced World Solutions, Inc. got a first-hand experience of answering inquiries related to such initiatives. Vincent Remo, Director and AVP for Business Development was joined by Ms. Kristine Marie Concepcion, a Senior R&D Manager for the company's internal technology research center. This year's HIMSS was attended by around 45,000 Healthcare and IT Industry professionals. It featured 300 sessions and 1,200 exhibitors.
No less than Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Alphabet Inc. (mother company of Google) reinforced the need for most of the technology initiatives of Advanced World Solutions, Inc. In his Keynote speech, Schmidt stressed the need for AI and Machine Learning, and in particular mentioned "Reinforced Learning". In this event, AWS was able to verify that it is on the right track with the company's research initiatives and that business in 3A's will come in very soon.
The Philippine booth was also visited by one of the Keynote Speakers, Vice Admiral Raquel C. Bono, Director of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and the highest ranking Filipino in the US Military. She recognized that the Philippines has been is expected to be a very good partner for the US, especially in the area of Healthcare Services.
